Summer In Rio is a summer capsule where I designed a Peasant Blouse, Short Set, and a Summer Dress.
I choose these three items because I found these items to be key to the girl/globetrotters wardrobe through my research. With the Olympics being hosted by the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro, I thought this would be the ideal destination spot for our little globetrotter. I thought the warm humid environment she would be playing in would require lots of flowy and brightly colored outfits. Garments that could easily transition from the beach or hotel poolside to beautiful Rio's shops and tourist sites. I created a relaxed bohemian look with a voluminous, lightweight body with delicate lace detail, colorful prints, and color blocking. I used prints with florals and tropical-inspired foliage colors. This collection sets the stage for all the fun this very much alive and vibrant vacation destination will offer.
